Desi
Gtown Desi, Scotland’s most creative and
exclusive Urban Asian group, is an amalgamation of five
talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, each
bringing to the group their own
musical influences. Each member shares the same high
standards and values in relation to their commitment and
contribution to music.
The members of Gtown Desi are Bobby B, Jay Jagpal,
Oz-e, Mr Vin & DJ Gully.
Gtown Desi are renowned on the Urban and Asian
music scenes in Scotland for their DJ skills, music
production, radio hosting and events management. The
group has an impressive track record which has been
developed through their hard work over the last few
years.
Gtown Desi have an ability to entertain, relate and
connect to different audiences which has proved an
invaluable skill. From such genres as Bhangra, Bollywood,
RnB, Hip Hop to Grime,
D’n’B, Dubstep and UK Funky House, Gtown Desi have
continually catered for audiences in Scotland.
Gtown Desi host two weekly radio shows in Scotland. They
host an Asian show every Friday night on Scotland’s only
Asian radio station, Awaz FM with guest artists
featuring regularly and the group’s very own live mixes.
Their second radio show is an Urban show on Scotland’s
newest commercial radio station, Pulse FM. Every Monday
night Gtown Desi play the most fresh and upfront R’n’B
and Hip Hop music.
Gtown Desi commenced their brand in early 2008 with the
opening of Scotland’s most exclusive Asian club night,
‘Secrets’. Following on from this, in late 2009, Gtown
Desi launched “Vibe”, an urban club night at a
prestigious nightclub in Glasgow city. Both these nights
continue to be a huge success in Scotland.
Gtown Desi have commanded the Scottish Urban Asian
circuit and have revolutionised the Asian nightlife
scene within the country.
