 MC
$pecial is making big waves in the Bhangra industry as a
Mc and Music Producer. Since releasing his first track
in 2002, MC $pecial's talents have gained him massive
recognition around UK and Worldwide and is currently
working in conjunction with many top producers in the UK
Bhangra scene.
MC $pecial has carefully developed a diverse and
successful musical career since his induction to the
world of Bhangra by Sukhshinder Shinda.
He is that special breed of an MC and producer who
brings sensitivity and credibility to his work. Whatever
genre of Punjabi/urban music he is working in, he takes
pride in his music and pushes the beat in his own unique
style.
I started listening to pirate radio stations back in
1999 listening to stations such as Freeze Fm and Ice Fm.
I was into drum n bass and garage and started buying
music with a lot of MC lyrics in it from a local Garage
and D&B outlet. I was not into MCs that much as I hadn't
heard any of them and although I was into the DJing side
of the industry, I didn't consider myself to be good
enough. By the time 2000 came I was very much into the
D&B (jungle) and bhangra scene and I started venturing
out to clubs such as Eros, Gas club, Sound etc and this
is where I started to hear MCs. I was very much
overwhelmed by what I was hearing and in all honesty
thought to myself MCing would work out a lot cheaper
than buying records (ha ha). I was also hearing MCs on
the radio such as MC det etc
I met MC Viper through a friend of mine, he was my idol
and I was very scared, but pleased to meet him. He would
listen to my tapes, giving me his honest opinion and
advice on what to do & what not to do. I found this
advice very helpful and used it to perfect my style, as
I felt he understood what I wanted to achieve. I
continued to give him tapes of myself and still
appreciated & acted on his advice. We became good
friends and still are so to this very day.
My lyrics are designed to be about the D&B, Bhangra
scene & to describe different scenarios that unfold
during any given party. I also like to express my
opinion on what I see going on around me in the scene
and my goal as a MC is to entertain the heads that hear
me and to go as far as I can as an MC.
In year 2003 was the break of ice for me. Releasing my
tracks with Sukhshinda Shinda and Aman Hayer (Mittra de
moter teh dnb mix and Aja Aja) with the best producers
around the world. Since then been working really hard in
the studio getting new tracks ready, ideas etc. I have
also become a radio presenter now aswell on radio
stations so listen out carefully. I’ve also worked with
four different stations and now on my fifth station.
(Like moving around I think ;). Towards the end of 2003
my name has really picked up with my tracks and playing
@ events with Aman Hayer so I would like to BIG UP ALL
MY FANS FOR THERE SUPPORT.
2005 Had been a really busy year with big hits and
touring all over the UK. I have joined VIP RECORDS for
my future releases. Trust me there are some big projects
lined up. I have also started working on my solo album.
Keep a look out!!! The best is still to be heard. I
would like to say a big respect to DJ VIPS who is
putting so much time and effort to get the bhangra
industry the right way and looking after his artists.
