Success for VIP has meant that for the last few months we have been busy wheeling and dealing; developing and progressing the business in preparation for another busy schedule of fantastic new releases from new and established artists.
VIP albums are now available in America, Canada, India and the Far East, and in a few months, legal downloads will be available through programmes such as Itunes and Napster; until now all VIP albums have been restricted in terms of use due to the high level of piracy in the industry. VIP are actively involved in raising the standard of UK Bhangra for the good of Asian business and culture. We have had many fans tell us that they are not happy with being unable to play our music on MP3 players, so we hope this will ensure that our products can be reached and enjoyed anywhere, anytime.
The Website is in the processes of being revamped to reflect and accommodate new developments and make your experience more informative and entertaining. Keep an eye on it.
If you’ve forgotten or never experienced what an Indian summer is like, then let VIP help you to remember or imagine with our new album Surajmuki. This album is by Bhagwantjit, a very talented singer from Glasgow. Originally from Ludhiana, Punjab, he has been working with Surinder Bachan, one of the world’s biggest music producers. Bachan has produced more than 2,000 albums and has produced music for Surjit Bindrakhia, Babbu Maan and Gurdas Maan amongst others. Surajmukhi is his UK production debut.
This is a beautiful Punjabi geet album on a Bollywood scale, which will suit long hot summer nights – whether spent alone with that special someone, or relaxing with family and friends in the garden with kebabs on the barbee. The Bollywood theme follows through to the video of the title track, Surajmuki. The Video quality speaks for itself; it was shot on high quality film in Mumbai, India. It should even give Auntieji a wee sparkle in her eye for Bhagwantjit!
Further new releases from VIP include:
The eagerly anticipated and long awaited album Repazent is finally hitting the streets. The compilation features the likes of Kaka Bhainiawala, Jaswant Heera, Kulvinder Johal and Dippa Dosanjh.
After their huge sucess with Word Is Born... you guessed it. Specialist 'N' Tru-Skool are back!
The next few months are going to be very exiting for VIP Records and UK Bhangra. We are looking for a budding Bhangra journalist to join our team. If you have a passion for writing, know all there is to know about Bhangra and want to be part of a dynamic, pioneering team, email your CV and examples of work to design@viprecords.co.uk.
