Information:
At long last we have a hip hop/R&B
track that isn’t churning out the same old recycled
lyrics about ‘making love in da clubs’. D-Boy’s laid
back new solo single ‘Loveless’ narrates a story about
forbidden love, the struggles and racism that two people
in love from different cultures can face. The smooth
single features So Solid/Reelist R&B singer Sef and UK
rapper A G Dolla and de livers a slice of the UK’s
finest on top form.
The single is taken from D-Boy’s album ‘Playback’ and is
the second single to be released. Since releasing the
first single ‘Nach Ke [Bhangra Bounce] featuring Swiss &
VdublE, D-Boy has done a BBC Introducing session and has
found champions on Radio 1, Kiss, Asian Network to name
a few.
‘‘D-boy never lets me down, from underground street
bangers to dance floor anthems, he’s always on point. I
can’t wait to drop his productions in my set’’ DJ NIHAL
[Radio 1]
D-Boy [aka Daniel Naqui] has already notched up hits and
produced for The Reelists, won the British Academy of
Songwriters and Composers ‘Overall Best Song’ in 2005
and second place for best song with the Songwriters
Academy. D-Boy was also behind the development of artist
Bruce Boniface who is now signed to Sony and who
recently penned ‘Lie About Us’ for Avant featuring
Nicole Scherzinger.
Earlier this year, he produced ‘Look 4 Me’ for British
female artist Hard Kaur. The single has gone on to
become anthemic in India and remained in the top 5
position in the Indian charts for 8 weeks.
The new album ‘Playback’, features experimental tabla
meets grime, classical meets electro tracks featuring
Baby Blue, Pyrelli, Selah, Sharifa Shi, Des-C and more.
